What’s Love Got To Do With It?

What would you do if your wife and daughter were in danger of being kidnapped and made slaves? Or if your son was left with a choice, join the gang or die? There is no one who can help because the gangs control everything. You’d probably do like so many others have and sell everything you own to escape the violence. They travel thousands of miles fraught with danger in hopes of saving their families. So what happens when they get to the US? We tear their families apart.

This isn’t the first time our country has purposely separated husbands from wives, mothers from daughters, and sisters from brothers. Destroying families was one of the many evils of slavery. Tragically, the sins of our past has returned. The times have changed but the sinful nature of our flesh never does. These so-called Christians better wake up. They have forgotten that children hold a special place in God’s heart. The Kingdom of Heaven belongs to them (Matt19:14 )!

All the justifications they come up with won’t change the fact that treating people with such callousness comes from hate. You can fool yourself but not God. He exposes our hate by showing us what is love (1Cor 13:4-7). These so-called Christians claim to love God but they are lying. It sounds harsh but “If anyone says, "I love God," and hates his brother, he is a liar; for he who does not love his brother whom he has seen cannot love God whom he has not seen.”
‭‭(1John‬ ‭4:20‬ ‭ESV).

Love is so important to God that He ties love to our salvation. If you love God you will obey his commandments (1John5:3) and God commands us to love one another (John 13:34). Furthermore, we are all made in the image of God (James 3:9). Because God is love (1John4:8) we’re an embodiment of love. When you hate someone you are rejecting love. You are rejecting God.

Think about it.
