A Mother’s Praise

For all the prominent jobs women hold today none matter most than that of the being a mother. For God has given you an awesome gift."Behold, children are a heritage from the Lord, the fruit of the womb a reward"  (Psalm 127:3 ESV).

You've been entrusted with a great responsibility to love, protect, feed, clothe, nurture, and discipline your child– your gift from God. Most women do just that and more. If you're anything like my mom, you've made many sacrifices along the way. The time and devotion you give to your child is what makes mothers special. Sorry dads, but there's a reason why Mother's Day is hyped like the Superbowl while Father’s Day gets the hype of a high school scrimmage.

In today's world mothers have to be a provider, chef, maid, doctor and counselor all rolled up into one. Despite the many hats you wear, there’s one job that God has charged you with that matters most: teach your child to follow God.

"These commandments that I give you today are to be on your hearts. Impress them on your children. Talk about them when you sit at home...when you lie down and when you get up" Deuteronomy 6:6, 7 NIV).

I know you’ll continue doing all the wonderful things you do. I pray that you also keep teaching (your life being an example) your children how God wants them to live. Mothers deserve honor and “...a woman who honors the Lord deserves to be praised" (Proverbs 31:30 CEV).

Think about it.
