Whose Team Are You On?
The Super Bowl is almost here and millions of people will tune in to watch the game and the million dollar commercials. Super Bowl Sunday has truly become a national holiday. So what does football have to do with Christianity? I'm glad you asked. Football fans are a great example of how Christians should be.
Whether it's wearing their team's jersey or debating anyone who disagrees, when you're a fan of a team it shows. So how do you show you're on Jesus' team? Do you go to the game (church) on Sundays or how often do you study the team playbook (Bible)? Do your clothes show whose team you're on (1Tim 2:9,10)?
We should be as willing and as passionate to talk about Team Jesus as football fans are about their teams. There are so many people on the losing team and they don't even realize it. They are lost and alienated from God (Eph 4:17-19). They need to hear about him.
The game of life, just like the football season, is very short and you only get one chance to win. Make sure you're on Team Jesus because when the season is over it'll be too late to jump on the bandwagon.
Think about it.
