Powerful
Do you know how powerful you are? Yes, you. You have the power to make things happen and to change lives. If you understood your power, you wouldn't worry when times get tough. You wouldn't worry about a job, trouble at home, bills, or an illness. What makes you so special? What power do you have that separates you from others? You have the power of prayer.
Did you know that God only listens to Christians? "Now we know that God does not hear sinners; but if anyone is a worshiper of God and does His will, He hears him" (John 9:31). God doesn't respond to your prayers if you aren't a Christian. Christianity is like an exclusive club with members only privileges and there's no greater privilege than prayer.
Prayer is so powerful because "whatever you ask in prayer, you will receive, if you have faith” (Matt 21:22). Now before you start praying for a new Porsche, remember that God knows you better than you know yourself. Don't be surprised "when you ask, you don’t get it because your motives are all wrong—you want only what will give you pleasure." (James 4:3 NLT).
The key to unlocking your power is to put God first (Matthew 6:33). You can't expect God to answer your prayers when you're money hungry, sleeping around, or holding grudges— basically living like the rest of the world. "Do not love the world or the things in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him" (1 John 2:15 NKJV).
Start using your power unselfishly and pray for the needs of others. How do you think you got the things you needed before you became a Christian? If you focus more on God, the power of your prayers will change your life and the lives of those you love. For God doesn't want us to worry about anything but pray about everything (Philippians 4:6).
Think about it.
